What began as a way of sharing our industry experience has blossomed into a multi-faceted podcast and publishing platform that now reaches thousands of readers and listeners worldwide.
We now have a number of professionals and entrepreneurs frequently coming to us for advice and help in promoting their own services and products, the success of which we’re delighted to now be sharing at AT&T Business Circle .
AT&T Business Circle: a great resource!
We initially set out to simply answer the one question we constantly heard throughout our travels: How did you ever get into the TV-movie business?
We quickly discovered that there was not “short answer” to that question, and that it involved a series of very personal anecdotes and stories. That’s when the notion of producing a podcast surfaced. What better way to tell our story than to tell our story?
After facing a blizzard of technical challenges that put us on a serious learning curve, we managed to get the first episode up and running on iTunes. We still face those tech problems now and then, but after 50 (!) episodes, we’re beginning to get the hang of things.
We also discovered fairly early that everyone in the entertainment business has a unique personal story and has often taken “the road less traveled” to build their Hollywood career. Those individual stories, we’ve discovered, are a valued resource for our followers and podcast listeners looking for great celebrity insights and career guidance.
As these things so often happen, one thing led to another, and we found ourselves writing Where Hollywood Hides: Santa Barbara, which was published in a full-color hard cover edition to great success. It’s the perfect “Santa Barbara souvenir” and makes a great gift for anyone interested in the careers and lifestyles of the many celebrity figures who have made Santa Barbara their home.
Part of the challenge of publishing a podcast series, promoting this website, and generating sales of our book has given us great insights into what it takes to meet the various content and technical challenges involved.
